Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I see you are running into some problems with the Twain and WIA drivers for your HP LJ 100 Color MFP. I would like you to start troubleshooting below:

-- It was designed by HP to provide users with the troubleshooting and problem solving features needed to resolve many common problems experienced with HP print and scan products connected to Windows-based computers.

Follow the steps below to check the WIA Service:

1. Click on Start, in Search box type services.msc and press the enter key.

2. Scroll down to the WIA Windows Image Acquisition.

3. Make sure that this service is running. Click Stop and then Restart.

4. Restart the computer.

Restart the Dependencies services:

1. Click on Start, in Search box type services.msc.

2. Scroll down until you see Windows Image Acquisition WIA.

3. Double click on it and go to the tab called Dependencies.

4. 2 services should be listed.

5. Exit that window and look for Remote Procedure Call RPC.

6. Make sure it is on manual or if it is on Auto, just leave it. Make sure the service is started though.

7. Go to Shell Hardware Detection and Double click.

8. Set the Start up Type as Manual and hit Apply.

9. You should be able to Start the service by hitting Start.

10. Now you are done and the Twain Manager should be working and not give you an error.

Check dependencies or sub dependencies:

Right click on WIA Windows Imaging Acquisition selecting first properties and then the dependencies tab. It

should list: Remote Procedure Call RPC  and  Shell Hardware Detection.

Under RPC it will then list DCOM Service Process Launcher and RPC Endpoint Mapper Go back to the main

services.msc list and then right click and start all the items listed as dependencies or sub dependencies under

WIA.

Try and scan again.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor. did it print or scan, any error messages

Until today, my scanner worked great.  However, when trying to scan a simple one page document, the resulting file is totally black with white horizontal lines like a writing tablet.  I ve tried to save it as a JPG and a PDF.  The results are the same.  I ve tried all the possible settings including the default setting for documents.  I have also unplugged everythng and waited a minute and plugged it back in thinking it needed to reset.  No change.  Please help.  Thanks.

I suggest that we try the following steps that my college Sunshyn2005, has provided on another thread.  The printer model is not the same as what you are using however, the steps will be the same.  Please click on the following link.

Product Name: hp6510 and hp 110-352na

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit

Have connected the printer via a cable and it prints fine but when I try to scan it says cannot scan and make sure your computer is connected to the printer - which it is, as I can print.

The PC is new and the printer used to scan to the old PC no problem.

Hi there gill. Welcome back

You surely should not have to run the installation every time you restart your computer. Try running the Print and Scan Doctor to see if the diagnostic tool can detect an error. It s also possible that if you have a firewall running that if could be blocking the printer from communicating, as some of them see the printer as a threat and you have to change settings in the firewall program to allow the printer to communicate with your PC.

Let me know what the Print and Scan Dr. determines and we can go from there. Also tell me which security/firewall programs you have installed on your computer.

I saw that you re unable to copy from your Deskjet 3070A. If you have tried the power reset as I posted in my last message here, and also have the printer directly connected to a wall out and still cannot make any copies, please give us a call directly to discuss your printer replacement options with HP.

I see that you are experiencing issues with the ADF not recognizing the paper loaded. I would really like to be able to help you resolve this issue.

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. don t use a power hub or a surge protector This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

Welcome to the HP Forums.

I understand that you are wondering how to Copy legal size directly with your HP Officejet 7500A wide format printer. I am happy to help.

I would recommend to go to this post, Re: for HP 7500 officejet printer E 910 cannot copy legal to legal, as it was another thread that I was working on, and this seemed to have solved the problem.

Once you follow the post, then you should be able to copy legal size from the ADF / Scanner Glass.
